We loved Marrakech.

Stay at Riad El Wiam. Located in the center of the Medina, this Riad was perfect and one of the reasons we loved our time in Marrakech so much. The staff was incredibly kind and welcoming, the space was clean and beautiful with just a handful of rooms. Breakfast was served on the roof each morning, where there was also a small pool and areas to relax and read after a hot day in the city. The hotel arranged a driver to pick us up at the train station for a reasonable price, which made finding the place a lot easier as it was tucked away down several small streets and alleyways.

The highlights of our 3 nights in Marrakech were wandering through the old Medina. The movement and commence, food and spices, and colors of all of the rugs and materials provide an incredible sensory overload. The Ben Youssef Madrasa is absolutely worth some time, the colors and architecture are amazing.

Marrakech has several bars and restaurants hidden in little gardens or on gorgeous rooftops - both of which are excellent reprieves from the heat and hustle of the tight and winding Medina streets. My absolute favorite was Naranj Restaurant. The rooftop felt like an oasis, beautifully designed and lush with plants, and the food was wonderful - probably my favorite meal from our time in Morocco. Another nice spot for a cocktail or coffee was Terrase Des Epices. We spent most of our time in the Medina, but there are many more gems to discover outside of the city walls as well.
